Rocket Share Grungy New Single ‘Take Aim’ and Announce ‘Versions Of You’ EP Reissue
Rocket have shared their grungy new single ‘Take Aim’ and announced the reissue of their ‘Versions Of You’ EP.
About ‘Take Aim’
Featuring fuzzy guitars, heavy drums, and a throbbing bassline, frontwoman Alithea Tuttle sings: “Why don’t you lie to me / Why’d you stop crying to me / You said I am all to blame / Why don’t you go and take your aim,” describing the feeling of being taken advantage of but not being able to confront the person.
Behind the Song
Speaking about the song in a press release, Tuttle shared: “It’s about a friendship that was built upon them taking more than they give and watching the friendship grow sour as time goes on. The verses illustrate the nature of the relationship; what that person says is what goes and no one can change their mind. The choruses fall back into the repetitiveness of overthinking; ‘if this is all my fault like you say it is then take your aim.’”
Music Video
Directed by Noah Neal and A.J. Incammicia, the track’s accompanying music video sees the band – also comprised of guitarists Baron Rinzler and Desi Scaglione and drummer Cooper Ladomade – performing in a basement while Tuttle gets shot by arrows.

‘Take Your Aim’ was written shortly after the release of Rocket’s 2023 debut EP ‘Versions Of You’. The song will now appear on the tracklist of the brand new ‘Versions Of You’ reissue via Transgressive Records / Canvasback which is available on vinyl and CD. The reissue is set for release on April 18 and can be pre-ordered here.
