Jordan Adetunji Unveils New Mixtape ‘A Jaguar’s Dream’

Jordan Adetunji has announced a new mixtape ‘A Jaguar’s Dream’, alongside the single ‘Too Many Women’ featuring Kwn. Check it out below.

About the Mixtape

The former NME The Cover star is set to release ‘A Jaguar’s Dream’ on January 24 via 300 Entertainment and Warner UK (pre-save it here).

Produced and written by Adetunji, the 10-track project includes collaborations with the likes of Take A Daytrip, Chase & Status, Danja, 18YOMAN, Danny Casio, Villabeatz, J Rick and more.

The Single ‘Too Many Women’

Announcing the mixtape today (January 10), Adetunji has also shared ‘Too Many Women’, a slinky, R&B-infused collaboration with London artist Kwn. “Don’t mean to get in your way/Took another shot girl I’m waved/Shawty I know that you think we’re the same,” he sings on the track. Check it out below.

Insights from Adetunji

Speaking on the inspiration for the mixtape’s title, Adetunji shared: “A Jaguar to me, is someone who moves through spaces and conquers every space it enters. This is how I feel with my sound constantly evolving and conquering every space I enter into. ‘A Jaguar’s Dream’ is an entry into my love life and my world of thoughts through sound and emotion. A real manifestation of my dreams I wish to make reality.”

Adetunji’s Rise to Fame

Adetunji’s breakout track ‘Kehlani’ was one of Barack Obama’s favourite songs of 2024. Speaking to NME for his cover interview last year, Adetunji reflected on the track’s instant success. “It’s crazy hearing it in the club still,” he told us. “Seeing Jaden Smith vibing to it, seeing Travis Scott going crazy to it on his Story… it’s created a culture, which I love.”

The Story Behind ‘Kehlani’

The musician also shared how he got the song’s namesake – US R&B star Kehlani – to feature on it, saying he always wanted her to guest on the track, but was too shy to ask her himself. “She hit me up and said, ‘So am I gonna get the open verse?’ and I was like, ‘That’s crazy!’” he explained. “She was in the studio, and I needed to send her the file, so I was in the middle of the club trying to search for the right file; I’d named it something so dumb! I managed to get it to her, and she locked in on that one. The remix came out fire.”

Grammy Nominations

The Kehlani-featuring version of the track was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance for the 67th annual Grammy Awards, set to take place on February 2 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Conclusion

‘A Jaguar’s Dream’ promises to be an exciting and diverse mixtape, showcasing Adetunji’s growth and evolution as an artist. With collaborations from top producers and features from talented artists, this release is sure to leave fans eagerly anticipating the drop.
